Premier Home Watch SWFL provides an innovative, integrated home watch service system. Most people realize that a home-watch service is necessary when leaving their home for an extended period of time. For those who are skeptical of this necessity, consider these real-life experiences:
One couple, our retired parents, went to their family cottage for a long weekend as they had been doing for the past 40 years. They felt safe knowing their kids were nearby who would be able to keep an eye on the house if anything came up or needed to be checked. But no one was on a routine “watch schedule”. After all, the cottage was only a couple of hours away, so what could happen?
Water Leaks Happen Regularly
Without warning, the hot water faucet in their master bathroom burst open allowing the hot water to run freely from one to three days. The time period is still unknown. During that time, however, extensive water damage was incurred. The bathroom was on the second floor, so the water seeped through to the first floor and into the basement. With this three-level waterfall brought humidity, mold and destruction in its wake. The first-response service that was on site took everything in the affected areas out of the house into storage at a $28,000 cost.
At the end of the five-month ordeal, the homeowners faced a whopping $130,000 total insured loss and now face a substantial deductible on their homeowner policy renewals. This rebuilding process could have taken a lot longer; fortunately, they were in a busy metropolitan area with plenty of trades companies to choose from who were ready to work. Not all areas enjoy these types of options. Having a home watch services with trade connections can save you time and money.
It can happen anywhere...even in Florida
Another couple, Florida seasonal visitors, returned to their home to find it had experienced water damage. The source of the extensive damage was the water line connected to the toilet had disconnected. No one knew, in fact, until a neighbor noticed water gushing out of the front door. The actual water damage was compounded by extensive mold damage resulting in an estimated $50,000 in damages. Adding to this severe problem once they returned “up north”, was the time delay in locating skilled workers which added to the long distance frustration along with the actual tangible loss.

You’re right there with us
While conducting a walk through of your home using a state-of the-art camera, you’ll see exactly what we see. It is similar to being there yourself, along with having the benefit of our expert advice on anything that looks problematic. Every inch of your home will be seen and any questions will be answered. Having this recorded also gives you peace-of-mind to revisit it at any time.
Specifically, we will conduct a comprehensive walk through and you will see our every move on the inside of your home. We check the thermostats for proper settings making sure the air conditioning is functioning and change air filters as needed. We inspect floors and open the kitchen drawers to check for traces of pests. We inspect all ceilings and windows for signs of water penetration, flush toilets and run the faucets to remove any stagnant water and also to keep the screens on the faucets clean from build up. We also look at all the visible plumbing pipes for any leaks, and if found, they will immediately be fixed. Any interior lighting on timers will be checked as well.
We don’t just watch...
The exterior of your home will also be included in the walk through checking windows and doors for cracks, leaks and unwanted entry, while inspecting the caulking for proper sealing. The air conditioning unit will be examined to ensure proper functioning and clearance. If clearance from overgrown landscaping is a problem we will take care of it on the spot. Any minor repair like this is no additional cost to you. If your unit is not functioning on the day of our visit, we can set up an appointment with a qualified technician at a discounted rate. We will meet the technician on that scheduled day at no additional cost to you.
Quality work is standard...no nickel and dime
Continuing the outside examination, we will check your landscaping, pool water level and clarity to make sure your weekly maintenance is to your satisfaction. If the pool water level is low, we will fill it up. Irrigation leaks can be very costly, so we also conduct a visual on your irrigation system for broken pipes and sprinkler heads. If any issues are found with the irrigation they will be corrected immediately, due to rising water costs, this is important for your water bill. If you left something behind or had a package inadvertently sent to your Florida home, we would get it to you.
For boat owners, we will look inside the hull to make sure the bilge pump is still functioning. We have seen boats break the lift due to the boat being full of water because the bilge pump stopped working. If your dock, driveway or roof is dirty and needs to be power washed, we can get it done at a discounted rate. Remember, we coordinate these appointments and meet the contractors at no additional cost to you.
